Rodney Walker Obituary

~His Story~
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1
A Time to Be Born:  Ecclesiastes 3:2
Rev. Rodney Walker Sr. was born on October 6, 1978 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to late Rev. M. A. Walker and late Sister Janie Walker. One Son, Rodney Walker Jr., preceded him in death.

A Time to Embrace:  Ecclesiastes 3:5
Rev. Walker accepted Christ as his personal savior one Wednesday in Vacation Bible study when he was only a small child.  After giving his life to Christ, he realized that God had a special assignment for him.  With perseverance and a willing heart, he accepted God’s call into the ministry and began preaching at a very young age.
Rev. Walker was a devout businessman who loved working with people. Continuing the family tradition, he was mentored by his late father and his late mother. Along with his supportive wife, he operated two funeral homes – Cahaba Memorial Funeral Chapel in Brent, AL and Agnew Funeral Home in Greensboro, AL, which are staples of the communities.

A Time to love: Ecclesiastes 3:8
On August 6, 2008, Rev. Rodney Walker Sr. was married to Tiffini M. Walker. They shared adventurous spirits and an affinity for community and fashion. They also shared a fervent belief that through God all things are possible. He was also a loving father who cherished his children.

A Time to Die:
II Timothy 4:6-8 “… I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought a good fight.  I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day:  and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
Rev. Rodney Walker Sr. exchanged life for eternity on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at his residence.  He took his flight to be with the Lord and received his crown.
To cherish fond memories are his loving wife, Tiffini M. Walker, of Northport, Alabama; two daughters, Arieana Walker and Aiyana Walker, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; son, Ke’Darius Chism, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; three adorable grandchildren, Azaria Webb, Ava Pickett, Kashton Walker; one sister, Tiffany (Rosoid) Martin, of Birmingham, Alabama; mother-in-law, Joann Underwood, of Brent, Alabama; a number of in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
