WILLIAM'S LIFE STORY: William H. Lewis, affectionately known as “Don” to family and friends, peacefully and unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on the morning of August 12, 2024. Don was born on March 8, 1957 to the late Cleophus Lewis and Mary Williams Lewis in Greensboro, Alabama. He received his primary education in the Greensboro Public School System. Upon graduation from Greensboro High School East in 1975 he joined the United States Army. He later earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Strayer University in Alexandria, VA. He retired from the army at the rank of Sergeant First Class after 20 years of service with his last duty assignment being at The Pentagon. He continued his service to the United States Government as a civilian in Human Resources Management ending as a Management Analyst at the Pentagon. Don is predeceased by his parents, Cleophus and Mary Lewis; and brothers, Ronnie, Kelvin, and Eugune. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Myrtis Lewis of Clinton, Maryland who he cherished and loved dearly. His devotion and dedication to Myrtis is unmatched. Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Cleophus Lewis of Antelope, California, Shedrick (Tamara) Lewis of Huntsville, AL, Dedrick Lewis (Keshia) of Stafford, Virginia; and four sisters, Diane Agnew (Carlier) of Newbern, Alabama, Clover Littleton (Wesley) of Puyallup, Washington, Kesha Kaylor of Charlotte, North Carolina and Dana Holifield of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; his sisters-in- law, Velma Lewis and Clothilda Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
